My Luna Moth Story

Recently I have found so much comfort through small reminders that I am convinced God has placed in front of me as a way of reminding me of who I am and who God is. These reminders have come in small symbols and reflections in my morning medications. 

When I first moved into my new apartment, the first night I had a beautiful luna moth sitting outside my apartment door. I have always wanted to find one since I was in 4H as a kid and saw moth collectors with these beautiful creatures in shadow boxes. When I saw the luna moth I instantly knew it was a gift and a sign for me. I looked up the symbolism behind the moth and found. 

The luna moth is such a special creature because in their adult phase they only live a week. Thus, they are symbols of ceasing the day and taking every opportunity to love and live life to the fullest. Because of the unique patterns on their wings they are often thought of as a symbol of protection and success. Their markings protect them from predators so they can live out their short, one week, adult life span uninhibited. 

I think God can use the physical and nature to remind us of His character. For me, having this moth at my door on the first night gave me reassurance that I am protected and secure because I know I have the Spirit guiding me. This apartment is a new beginning for me and I'm excited for the ability to be able to live life to the fullest in it!
