Do it for yourself

It may be because I'm an introvert but I am one of my favorite people to hang out with. These are some of the things I've been enjoying doing  on some of my days off from work when friends are busy.

These practices may be helpful for anyone looking to be more intentional with their time or those looking for some self-care practices!

Go out for a meal

Become comfortable with eating with yourself. The other morning I went out to my favorite breakfast spot and got an amazing breakfast slider and coffee and people watched bikers and dog walkers going up and down the cultural trail. It was amazing.

Buy something nice for yourself

Give yourself some love and buy yourself something nice! Self gifts are so fun. If you get them from Amazon like I did with these Birkenstocks then you even get the joy of unwrapping them!

Wake up for yourself

Lately I've been waking up extra early (this is not intentional but I've been trying to make the most of it anyway) and spending time with myself and my thoughts. Before the business of the world starts attaching itself to my skin I've been praying and journaling out on my back porch while the sun rises. I can't tell you how much this time alone has set my day up for success. Since  starting this practice a few weeks ago I've been tying to continue the practice by spending some time in the mornings before going to sleep after work or before heading to work with myself in prayer and reflection.

Create a beautiful space for yourself

A practice I've loved keeping is buying or picking flowers for myself and having them around the house. The ability to thrust my face into them and breathe in their sweet scent during busy days and the beautiful reminder that they flower for themselves just as I should is comforting and encouraging.
