January, 2018

After graduating with a bachelors of science in nursing I flew to Italy to spend two weeks exploring Rome before real life struck again. My Grandma, Marilyn, and her companion, Bob, stay in Rome for the better part of 3 months every winter. Knowing I was graduating in December we planned for me to visit and explore with them as my generous guides.

Included are snapshots and highlights from my trip!

Trastevere, Roma

was the neighborhood my apartment was located. I highly suggest staying in this neighborhood for anyone planning a trip to Rome as there are so many places to eat, shops, and bars to explore!

The Vatican

both the Vatican museum and St. Peter's Basilica was beautiful!

"The Sights"

these include the Colosseum, Pantheon, Altare della Patria(The Monument to Victor Emmanuel), The Aventine Keyhole, Sant'Agnese Mausoleum (at the catacombs), and the Trevi fountain at the bottom of the Spanish Steps.

Other sights that I highly recommend are the museums! I can't say enough that the art and culture kept in the museums of Rome are incredible. I could include so many photos of sculptures and paintings but to me there is some sort of sanctuary of seeing them in the museum!

Walk, Walk, Walk

when people ask what my favorite part of visiting Rome I say the walking! Exploring streets, finding a third wave coffee cafe, eating pizza at the top of the Spanish steps, and drinking a spritz at the piazza navona!
