Weekend in Dallas

It all started when…

In July my friends, E & A, moved from a few streets over from me to Dallas, Texas. Actually, the better way of putting it is, they moved BACK to Texas. I think E and I had already started planning our visiting schedule before they had left. We were used to seeing each other at least twice a week to not unless one of us travel 1K miles to see the other.

Thankfully, with my amazing self-scheduling at work I was able to schedule myself with a week off so that I could go visit them and spend a whole 5 days with them and their pups at their house.

Here are some of the spots we went to that I HIGHLY SUGGEST  going to if you find yourself in Dallas!

The Statler

This was the first place we went after I landed in Dallas. The Statler is a newer hotel that has multiple restaurants, rooftop bar, and open rooftop pool thats open to the public with reservation! We ate breakfast at Overeasy in the lobby of the hotel, then spent the rest of the morning and afternoon relaxing in the pool and enjoying spritz and G&Ts and living our best lives!

Dallas Food & Drinks

I would say a primary activity that we have historically loved doing together is eating and drinking. Dallas came in clutch!

We had coffee every morning at Houndstooth, (all three locations) which, is where A currently works.

Food also consisted of Americano for an amazing Italian dinner, Velvet Taco for some of the best/interesting tacos i’ve ever had in my whole life, and Goodfriend for some really good bar food and my first Texas red ale.

One of my favorite things we all did together was go wine tasting at Bar & Garden Dallas after walking around the Saturday morning market. We then brought some natural wines home and drank one with a beautiful salad and fig and butter plate.
