Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico
I'm trying to say 'yes' more. This means that when your best friend suggests you spend a long weekend in Mexico, you say YES!
Okay, that wasn't actually that hard to say yes to, who wouldn't want to spend a long weekend on the beach in warm weather in a beautiful city?
After buying our flights we found the cutest Airbnb in an older neighborhood minutes from the beach with a rooftop view! It was everything we wanted in a weekend stay! Clean, locked building, beautiful views, comfortable bed, and our host gave us a binder with suggestions of places to go and things to see! For anyone who's interested you can check out the listing below!
The beach was beyond amazing!
I've never seen water so clear or felt sand so soft! The hues of blue within the layers of water were so captivating. I have never really been one to sit on the beach and just stare out into the ocean but this time I couldn't help but become held by its view.
Also if you don't bring a giant pineapple floaty to the beach did you even go to the beach?
Also, Tacos
One of my favorite things about exploring a new city is walking around and finding places to eat. We originally looked up a breakfast spot that was recommended however while walking we couldn't find it. So, we stopped at a small taco stop to get tacos for breakfast and they were the best tacos i've ever had in my life.
But the best was exploring with Olivia
We've been crazy adventure partners for the last 8 years and in most ways we haven't changed. Its so beautiful to have someone you can be yourself around and who has a rhythm that is so similar that makes traveling so effortless. (actually we had a few speed bumps there at the beginning but everything worked out haha)
